Forgent ALLIANCE Wins 2004 Silver Editors' Choice Award From Lotus Advisor Magazine

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 2004--Forgent™ Networks (Nasdaq:FORG) today announced that it received this year's Lotus Advisor Silver Editors' Choice Award from Lotus Advisor Magazine for its Forgent ALLIANCE™ scheduling software. The prestigious awards are given annually to recognize innovative products that enhance the productivity and efficiency of IBM Lotus Notes® and Domino® users.

The 2004 Editors' Choice Awards were chosen from products exhibited at Lotusphere 2004 in Orlando, Fla., in January this year. Gold and Silver awards are granted annually in each of 10 categories based on application design, simplicity, ease of integration, as well as other aspects that the judges consider important. Forgent ALLIANCE received the Silver Award in the category of Business Solutions.

"The editors of Lotus Advisor Magazine are pleased to acknowledge the notable achievement of Forgent Networks with a 2004 Lotus Advisor Editors' Choice Silver Award for its innovative product, ALLIANCE," said John Hawkins, editorial director, Lotus Advisor Magazine. "The Award recognizes and celebrates strong tools and products for Lotus application architects, developers and administrators."

"We're excited about this recognition from the editors at Lotus Advisor Magazine. Our customers tell us that Forgent ALLIANCE significantly enhances their investment in Lotus Notes, and this award is validation," said Ken Kalinoski, CTO and vice president of development at Forgent Networks. "They're seeing how ALLIANCE lets sites and divisions within a company handle their own specific scheduling needs, while still supporting the corporate standard Notes platform."

Forgent ALLIANCE leads the industry in Lotus Notes based scheduling capabilities. ALLIANCE enables the Notes meeting scheduler to schedule all aspects of meetings -- attendees, rooms, meeting services, and audio, video and Web conferencing -- directly from Lotus Notes. It manages a centralized reservations database to control access, usage and costs associated with meetings. By empowering the meeting scheduler and managing the meeting environment, ALLIANCE makes meetings work more effectively and efficiently, saving organizations time and reducing costs. In addition to Lotus Notes, ALLIANCE also enables scheduling from Microsoft Outlook and the Web.
